Graphical Mapping

While at LCC library I came across this book, to do with graphical mapping. I have chosen some maps that I like.




This floorplan of the studio occupied by London-based design consultancy The Kitchen works as a graphic snapshot of the space at one moment in time. Each item within the space has been carefully itemised and catalogued, and the map visually represents their location within the studio. while the shapes of the objects are abstracted, a complex coding system is used.





The intention of this large format poster, produced as a promotional mailer and private view invitation for a degree show at Southampton, was to show how easy it is to get to the college from any location in the UK and Northern Europe. I love this map just for it simplicity and typography.
